RSC12 FINAL RESULTS
With RSC 12 just finishing up, we’d like to take a look back at the season we had.
After 9 weeks of league play we had 5 teams looking form ready to take on the tough task of the playoffs and playins. Below is a breakdown of how our teams performed.
Prospect had a great start to the season placing top 3 in the first 3 weeks of league play. After a few unfortunate results in the following weeks, and results not going our way, we found ourselves on the lower half of the table fighting to get into the playins spots. After some talks with the team we decided to make a change in the team to see if it would change anything in the results. Sadly, that change might’ve came a little too late, for we didn’t have time to climb up more. We finished in 8th place once league play ended.
Our Challenger team had an amazing, all round, season placing 2nd in their tier, just 1 win behind first. In the playins, we were one series win away from securing a spot it int upper bracket. However, we found ourselves losing a hard fought series, dropping instantly to the lower bracket where our playoffs run ended immediately after losing the following series.
The Rival team, like our challenger team, was looking strong throughout league play, being first in standings for the first 6 weeks before dropping to 3rd at the end of week 9. This meant there would be a playins game to determine the upper and lower brackets. The playins game was a success for our rival team and they ended up winning the series 3-1. Unfortunately it wasn’t their day the following Saturday when the playoffs took place. They ended up getting swept in the upper bracket and then again in lower bracket to end their run.
Our Elite team was looking solid going in to the playins after finishing 5th in league play. They had a roster change in week 7. This change yielded strong results that proved they where a strong team, but they were unable to clinch the win in the playins game, ending their run straight away.
Our team in the master tier was looking really strong going into playins. From being 10th in week 4, making a roster change, and finishing 4th, just 2 wins behind 3rd, was extraordinary. They were looking like one of the favorites after beating most of the top table teams in our own conference. However, yet again, playins proved to be tougher than expected, and a loss in the first round meant their season was over.
Premier managed to make 2nd in the conference, meaning they would go straight into the upper bracket of the playoffs where they would face the winners of the other conference. The first series was a rough one and it ended up being a sweep against us. This meant we would be playing Fort Templar in the lower bracket. After a hard fought game 5 we ended up drawing the shorter straw and saw one of our teams drop early in the playoffs.
In summary, the season overall was a pretty successful one where we managed to finish 5th in franchise standings, having 5/6 teams being able to compete for the title in their respective tiers. However, playoffs didn’t go our way in any of the tiers and we dropped out early in all of them. We thank you all for the support throughout the season and hope to see you again in the next season.
