FORG x Anime Detour
From Friday, April 7th – Sunday April 9th, our very own SP33DW4GON will be repping the FORG Nation at Anime Detour. Boasting a smaller venue than FORG’s AMKE adventure, SP33D is looking forward to partake in a more laid back con, which typically offers more freedom compared to the bigger, more industry focused events. The plan is to get the lay of the land and meet up with some local friends from the area as well as reconnect with some new friends from AMKE.
This year, Anime Detour features your typical Otaku fare, and showcases a standout guest list. Notable industry voice actors like Johnny Yong Bosh (Black Power Ranger, Lelouch – Code Geass), Meghan Shipman (Anya Forger – SPYxFAMILY), Natalie Van Sistine (Yor Forger – SPYxFAMILY), and Austin Tindle (Karma Akabane – Assassination Classroom) are scheduled to make an appearance at this years’ event.
Various voice actors from other standout shows, like Demon Slayer and Overlord, are also scheduled to make an appearance at Anime Detour this year. Let’s not forget about the cosplay and musical performers as they will be hosting a variety of panels and media performances that will be presented for attendees of this event.
Other activities featured at Detour include:
- A Dealer’s Room where attendees may purchase various Japanese merchandise
- Panels where people may discuss and geek out over mutual interests
- Video rooms showing Japanese Animation and Asian Films
- Convention events such as AMVs, Photoshoots, Rave, Video/Tabletop Gaming, etc.
- And of course, fans dressing up in costumes and making new friends
Come on out if you’re in the Twin Cities area for some otaku shenanigans and a weekend full of culture. For you after party folks…rumor has it Lemillion may be hosting a lil’ somethin’ somethin’ at the Hilton nearby.
