FORG IS WEEBIN’ IT UP IN FEBRUARY

While we will not be hosting any FORG Entertainment panels…yet, we WILL have some of our very own FORG Staff attending Anime Milwaukee, a popular convention in southeast Wisconsin. For some, this marks the beginning of the con season for the Midwest and is a great appetizer for the con season to come.

“But Krispy! Krispy, why’re we going to cons? Isn’t that where all them nerds go to hangout and party??”

Well, yes, yes in fact it is.

Conventions have been around for decades, and in the past 15 years, anime cons have risen in popularity as welcoming and inclusive hangout opportunities to go out and celebrate the impact of anime, manga, music, and gaming culture. You will have a tough time keeping your wallet in check from massive dealer halls with rare merchandise, exclusive art that often looks better than the industry standard, or you can pick up something from big box stores. This is also the perfect opportunity interact with people, like meeting voice actors in the industry that dub your favorite characters, professional cosplayers that have a following online, and, of course, your fellow nerdy degenerates looking for new friends. You will find an array of costumes ranging from Hatsune Miku & All Might, to Darth Vader & Jesus Christ (yes like the actual Jesus Christ) cuz some of y’all need Jesus. (Shoutout to last year’s 4 dudes cosplaying the King of Hill, America’s very own Texas anime.)

From February 3-5th, SP33D and Zach, our con veterans, will be exploring and documenting what the con experience is like, giving their recommendations on how to get the most out of your convention experience, whether it be travelling in a group or attending solo. Maybe, if SP33D doesn’t go full party animal, we will take you on a brief journey of the night life that seems to be exclusive to anime cons. Comic Cons you gotta step it up. You expect nerds to leave and go to bed after 7pm? On a WEEKEND? If you thought nerds didn’t know how to party…man you’ve never been to an anime con.

Expect a special podcast episode to go up shortly after the con concludes as well as curated footage from the con floor. We hope to bring more interest and excitement to cons as a whole and network the FORG brand with our fellow nerds. And, who knows, maybe Krispy will actually muster up the courage to indulge his crazy weeb-side…
